There has been lots on the go lately with summer performances, mixing down two big band albums, and recording a Fats Waller tribute. I had to put a brief pause on all that, however, to submit a full orchestral score to a local symphony’s “call for scores”. I have finally finished the score for “Lindy Flies a Kite” this week and am excited about the final product. Ironically, writing the piece was easy for me, but putting it down all on paper has been quite the endeavour. Although I’ve been using Finale music notation software for almost 30 yrs, this project has pushed me to new levels. I’m ready to tackle another one. Below is the first page of the score.
