I am delighted to announce that Lindy Suite for Orchestra was the winner of the 2020-2021 Brazosport Symphony Orchestra Composition Contest! The piece was selected from more than 60 submissions from across the world and through three levels of judging. The piece is expected to be performed with the Texas symphony once covid restrictions allow.
About Brazosport Symphony Orchestra
Brazosport Symphony Orchestra is a world-class symphony orchestra based in southern Brazoria County. Under the direction of Brian Casey, the orchestra presents a full season of classical and pops concerts in The Clarion Music Performance Hall at Brazosport College.
About Lindy Suite for Orchestra
With the success of the first movement, Lindy Flies A Kite (Reno Pops Composers Night finalist), I decided to add four additional movements in the same style with story-like themes. Next was Lindy Rides A Bike, Lindy Dreams, Lindy Dances, and Lindy’s Adventure Begins.
The entire suite is just under 12 minutes in duration. Its vivid colour and character will no doubt appeal to a wide listenership.
