Spring Suite for String Quartet

Spring Suite for String Quartet

Spring and nature “awaken” with Brandon Walker’s “Spring Suite for String Quartet”

About Spring Suite

The piece for String Quartet (two violins, viola, cello) is written in three movements:

  1. Awaken (2:35) – The first movement, with its organic rhythms and Dorian mode tonality, presents a renewal and rebirth of beautiful things to come.
  2. Bloom (1:48) – With its lyrical and flowing melodies, the second movement contemplates the delicate and subtle beauties of springtime.
  3. Frolic (2:39) – the third and final movement explores the light-hearted fun that spring brings to creatures big and small

The piece will be premiered in 2022 as part of The Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra’s virtual season with a performance by the renowned Odin Quartet of Toronto!
