The Power of Huey is a band that I have recently been performing with, obviously playing the great pop tunes of Huey Lewis and the News. Currently, our set consists of the entire 1983 Sports album as well as many other HLATN favourites.

I have the great opportunity to play many of the fantastic saxophone solos by Johnny Colla of the original band (see my transcription example below). In addition to sax, I play keyboards with this band and it’s quite a lot of fun!

Before COVID-19 struck, this band was slotted to play a number of festivals and venues this summer. In August, we recorded a live video set at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, which will be broadcast likely in October.
