Program Notes: “Snowflakes and Laughter” by Brandon Walker
Brandon Walker’s “Snowflakes and Laughter” is a holiday classical composition for orchestra that captures the joy and camaraderie of a festive dinner party with friends and family. It opens with a cheerful melody, reflecting the lively chatter as guests arrive and greet each other.
The music then takes a serene turn as snowflakes gently fall outside. The guests are drawn to the windows, their faces lit with wonder. The orchestra swells with anticipation as they prepare for a sleigh ride into the countryside.
The sleigh ride is a whirlwind of excitement and laughter as the guests enjoy the beauty of the snow-covered landscape. The music reflects the thrill of the ride with its fast-paced tempo and lively melodies.
After the sleigh ride, the guests return to the warmth of the party, where the festivities resume with renewed vigor. The music becomes increasingly boisterous and celebratory, reflecting the high spirits of the guests.
As the evening winds down, the guests gradually depart, their faces glowing with the warmth of the shared experience. The music softens and takes on a more reflective tone as the guests say goodbye and express their gratitude for their wonderful time together.
