The Tampa Bay Symphony will perform Incandescence (Ukraine’s Undying Light) in their 2023-2024 season concert series, “Music of the Heart”.

Brandon’s piece for orchestra was inspired by the undying light and energy radiating from the Ukrainian people. Filled with tensions and ambiguous feelings, the piece builds to a conflict with militaristic trumpet calls at its climax. Yet, the yearning to end this horror and return to peace echoes the theme of freedom and final notes.

Also on the “Music of the Heart” program will be works by Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, and Felix Mendelssohn. Under the baton of Mark Sforzini, performances will occur at:

Sunday February 11, 2024 – 2:30 pm
